Job Description

The HVAC/R Lead Installer will provide high quality customer relations with proficient skill in the installation of mechanical equipment serving our commercial and industrial client base.

Compensation

  • Starting pay at $50,000.00 annually or more, based on experience.

    Job Duties

  • Supervision, oversight, planning, and lay out of jobs for the installation of equipment and piping for mechanical systems

  • Demonstrates the ability to read and interpret mechanical, piping, electrical, and control, drawings, blueprints, retrofit layouts, schematics, piping and mechanical code specifications for commercial mechanical and piping equipment, ductwork and distribution piping installations.

  • Proficiency in the installation of packaged systems, furnaces, boilers, air-cooled chillers, heat pump systems, condensers, exhaust fans, energy recovery units, unit heaters, mini-split systems, VRF/VRV systems, zoning systems, dampers, actuators, pumps, etc.

  • Proficiency in the installation of supply, return, and outside air ductwork systems.

  • Per code requirement, can successfully demonstrate performing the math calculations necessary to properly size mechanical ductwork and piping.

  • Demonstrates an excellent working knowledge of mechanical ductwork and piping theory, refrigeration, hot water, and drain piping systems.

  • Successfully supervise installation, repair, or replacement of refrigeration, hot water, drain distribution systems, and piping circuits including mechanical equipment, plumbing equipment, piping types, piping materials, fitting types, valve types, and testing equipment for residential installations.

  • Certification or proven skills in brazing techniques utilizing an oxygen/acetylene torch.

  • Verify compliance and functionality of installations. Correcting ductwork, piping, connections, and terminations on equipment as required.

  • Troubleshoot and test equipment, parts, piping, and fittings for leaks, restrictions, and proper flow.

  • Performs preventative maintenance and testing of mechanical and plumbing systems including ductwork and piping distribution systems.

  • Demonstrates an excellent working knowledge of mechanical and plumbing code requirements, safety policy, and company quality control protocols.

  • Demonstrates the ability to coordinate with other trades on jobsites, work alone, or as part of a team.

  • Maintains workflow schedule to ensure productivity objectives are met.

    Job Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years commercial and industrial HVAC/R install experience

  • Completion of High School or GED

  • EPA Universal

  • Valid Driver’s License

  • Pass a drug test

  • Criminal background check

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills

    Physical Job Requirements:

    A HVAC/R Lead Installer is required to:

  • Have the ability to stand for prolonged periods routinely, throughout the daily work schedule.

  • The english language is primary. Bi-lingual is a bonus.

  • Have the ability to walk around the job site, to business meetings, etc .

  • Have the ability to operate a computer and other industry specific productivity machinery, such as a calculator and telephone.

  • Have the ability to talk/hear/communicate with Cary Services office staff and/or customers by phone or in person, exchanging accurate information in these situations.

  • Have the ability to repeatedly lift irregularly shaped tools/hardware weighing 50 pounds, throughout the work day.

  • Have the ability to climb ladders and work on building roofs productively at heights of 50 feet.

  • Have the ability to work in extreme hot and cold conditions.
