Job Description

This position is for a long-term technical career path. The successful candidate will be part of a team that performs dynamic simulations for transmission planning studies on the Utility Company's bulk power system. These studies involve voltage stability, transient stability, resonance stability, converter-driven stability, underfrequency and undervoltage load shedding, FIDVR, out-of-step protection, generation interconnections (GIs), transmission service requests (TSRs), RFP studies, operational studies, regional planning with neighboring transmission systems, and generator retirements/additions. This position also performs, as needed, transients and insulation coordination studies; transmission power quality studies (harmonics and flicker); circuit breaker transient recovery voltage (TRV) analysis; analysis of geomagnetic disturbance (GMD) impacts, post event (root cause) analysis and other special technical studies as needed

Skills and Requirements

Bachelors in Electrical Engineering (Strong prefers Master's)

5+ years of experience

Experience in performing stability studies (e.g., voltage stability, rotor angle stability, frequency stability, resonance stability, and converter-driven stability) Advanced degree (Master's and/or PhD) in Electrical Engineering is strongly desired.

(P.E.) Professional Engineering license is a plus null
