Gulf Coast Treatment Center, Inc THERAPIST (MA/MSW) - (255893) in Fort Walton Beach, Florida

Gulf Coast Treatment Center in Fort Walton Beach, FL is currently seeking a Master's Level Therapist to join our team. Under the direction of the Director, the Therapist provides for the delivery and documentation of age/population specific psychotherapy and social services and assists family members and referral sources with continuum of care from the admission process through discharge planning.

Responsibilities:

  • Completes psychosocial assessment. Obtains information basic to psychosocial assessment and information related to diagnosis/treatment experiences, age, developmental stage, life style, traits/disorders and psychopathology. Completes treatment plan, treatment plan revisions, and monthly progress reports.
  • Promotes safe and therapeutic interdisciplinary patient care through consultation and supervision, effective communication, interactions with and training of direct care staff as needed, and milieu interventions. Uses de-escalation, mediation, conflict resolution and other less restrictive responses in relationship to the level of the patient while safely managing patient aggression. Provides targeted intervention for identified clients.
  • Provides clinically sound individual, family, and group therapies within required time frames and establish therapeutic relationships with patients and families. Conduct individual, group and family therapy using therapeutic approach specified in the patient's treatment plan. Report known and suspected abuse to appropriate entities. Set, prioritize and coordinate treatment goals with patients.
  • Provide quality documentation for psychosocial assessments, treatment plans, therapies, court reports, discharge planning, staffing, eligibility reviews, and medical records within required time frames.
  • Collaborate with the treatment team regarding the need for continued care or discharge, and communicate discharge plans and aftercare effectively with patients, families, referral sources, and treatment team. Access internal and external resources on clients' behalf.
  • Measure interventions against expected outcomes and modifies as indicated.
  • Provide education/consultation to client/family, treatment team and community. Communicate psychosocial impact of diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment interventions.
  • Assist Risk Management with investigations regarding patient care and reported abuse, neglect. Comply with standards, policies/procedures, laws and regulations.
  • Contribute to program development designed to meet joint goals. Contribute to performance improvement and quality improvement initiatives. Identify need for professional growth and seek appropriate professional development opportunities Completes other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work or other Human Service field.
  • Active Florida State license as LMHC or LCSW preferred.
  • Experience in DBT and CBT treatment programs preferred.
