Position Description:

Radiance is looking for a Mandarin Chinese Linguist to join our threat analysis team providing mission-critical support to the Government. The successful candidate will be one who can read and understand technical Chinese papers relating to foreign weapon systems, work as part of a larger team, and be able communicate (orally and written) effectively. This position is flexible in that the work will be ad hoc, on-call as needed. When work is available, Radiance will negotiate with the candidate on their availability.

Required Skills

Ability to score a minimum of 2/2 on the Defense Language Proficiency Test (DLPT) in Chinese

BA or BS degree

Required Experience

Experience providing translation of data from Chinese to English and from English to the Chinese

Experience translating technical and non-technical information using correct foreign language and English syntax

Experience writing technical reports

Excellent written and oral communication

Experience working in a mixed contractor and government environment

Desired Qualifications

Experience with collection, processing, exploitation, and dissemination of foreign intel information

MA or MS degree

Prior military experience

Experience developing improved intelligence analytic methodologies

Knowledge of machine translations of foreign languages
