Position Description:

Radiance Technologies, a rapidly growing employee-owned company, is searching for a talented optics engineer and leader to join our high energy laser team. An ideal candidate would be a self-starter with excellent technical skills and creative design and problem-solving capabilities enabled by the application of physical and mathematical concepts across disciplines. Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to clearly convey complex concepts are a plus.

Desired Qualifications:

Familiarity with statistical data processing, confidence intervals and error propagation

Experience with NIST traceable measurement devices

Skill using MATLAB or other software to model physical components and systems

Experience using ZEMAX for optical system design and analysis

Experience with semiconductor laser diode systems, devices, and experiments

Required Skills:

Bachelors degree in Physics, Engineering, or relevant field

US citizenship with ability to obtain a Secret clearance

Required Experience:

Minimum of 2 years relevant experience. (A Masters Degree in Physics, Engineering, or relevant technical field will substitute for the work experience)

Experience working in optics laboratory

Experience with laser and optical system alignment

Experience with optical instruments such as interferometers and alignment telescopes

Experience with electronic instruments such as oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers

Experience collecting and processing data from instrumentation
