Mississippi Employer Foundry Metal Prep/Iron Pourer in Laurel, Mississippi

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Preferred): High School diploma or GED, previous work related skill, knowledge or experience. Knowledge of cast iron and ductile iron melt practices and processes. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Adheres to all plant safety rules and procedures Wears proper personal protective equipment Inspects pouring equipment for defects and wear Maintains proper material and equipment for production Performs preventive maintenance on assigned equipment Examines and prepares material to load into furnaces Work with other pouring crew employees Collects samples or signals workers to sample metal for analysis Skim slag or remove excess metal Examines molds to ensure that they are aligned and chained/weighted Labels castings/molds with appropriate information Pours molten metal from ladles Positions equipment or signals workers to position equipment, such as ladles Help in cleaning and repairing furnace and ladle linings Operates ladle heater Properly operates equipment: Crane, Ladles, Ladle Heater, Temp Stick, Weight Scales (Table Top and Crane), Forklift, etc. Miscellaneous duties as required by the position or foreman/supervisor.
