The Interiors Division of Collins Aerospace, an RTX business, is looking for an EHS Senior Manager for its Lenexa, Kansas location. This role acts as a partner in EHS by developing the long term (3+ years) strategy and operational direction of the EHS program to include the short- to medium- term operational plans. Other responsibilities include ensuring the organization and maintenance of EHS policies to achieve and maintain compliance with regulations and will manage relationships across other functions and departments to achieve and maintain compliance with EHS regulations and RTX requirements. This role leads a team of primarily experienced professionals including an Injury Prevent Specialist and may have responsibility for site medical. Problems faced are complex and requires the influencing of leaders outside of the core EHS function by managing relationships across other specialized departments.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with site leadership to ensure the maintenance of the RTX EHS Management System and integrate EHS performance into site business activities.

  • Leads the communication of global EHS initiatives and comprehensive performance to EHS professionals and upper levels of management.

  • Establishes and tracks plans to achieve and maintain compliance and to reduce risk.

  • Leads audits on the implementation of the EHS management system.

  • Drives continuous improvement of the EHS program and support the development of a positive EHS culture.

  • Develop the site EHS Annual Plan in partnership with site leadership to drive the strategy of the EHS function at the site, including a tactical plan to achieve results.

  • Drive the programs, processes, and procedures to improve the EHS culture for employees and contractors.

  • Drives all EHS regulatory reporting requirements applicable to the site.

  • Use the EHS Smart reporting system to maintain EHS information.

  • Present findings and trends from EHS audits and inspections at to the site leadership.

  • Facilitate the development and completion of activities of various EHS subcommittees.

  • Participate in site and business meetings to discuss EHS performance and improvement plans.

  • Ensure the development and execution of various EHS trainings as required by policy or regulation.

  • May be asked to be flexible to take on additional assignments/rotations to support other EHS programs.

    Qualifications/Experience Needed:

  • Typically requires University Degree and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience.

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, CHMM, etc.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA, AIHA, EPA, and DOT requirements.

  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
