Monroe Environmental Corp Purchasing Agent in Monroe, Michigan
Position Summary: Purchase items for new equipment, replacement parts and stock material.
Responsibilities:
- Purchase steel, pumps, fans, controls, Etc., for all projects, while securing best pricing and meeting our budgets
- Work with Project Management and Engineering on outsourcing fabrication of Monroe Products
- Utilize MEC Software (MISys) to write purchase orders and maintain trace reports
- Expedite parts to insure on-time delivery
- Monitor inventory levels to ensure that stock is maintained at optimal levels while also avoiding over-purchasing
- Assist with vendor development
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills, including the ability to build solid relationships with vendors and internal teams
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
Beneficial Skills and Experience:
- Associate degree preferred
- Minimum of 2-5 years' experience in a manufacturing work environment
- Ability to read engineered drawings, prints and specifications
