Robert Half Clinical Services Secretary in Piscataway, New Jersey

Description

We are in search of a Medical Receptionist to join our team at our Piscataway, New Jersey location. This role entails providing frontline customer service in an office that specializes in behavioral health services. The selected candidate will be stationed on-site and will be responsible for a range of administrative and patient-facing tasks.

Responsibilities:

• Answer incoming phone calls and direct them to the appropriate department or individual

• Assist patients with the check-in process for appointments, ensuring all necessary demographic and insurance information is collected

• Verify patient insurance details and manage insurance referrals and verifications

• Schedule appointments using the Insight scheduling software, ensuring optimal time management and efficiency

• Provide exceptional customer service, demonstrating a calming and patient demeanor when interacting with patients

• Guide patients through the registration process, answering any queries they may have

• Order office supplies as needed to maintain adequate stock levels

• Perform data entry tasks and run reports as required, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records

• Employ skills such as patient scheduling, calendar management, co-insurance handling, written communication, and medical insurance verification to perform daily tasks.

Requirements • Must possess excellent written communication skills.

• Ability to manage patient scheduling efficiently.

• Proficient in scheduling appointments and managing calendars.

• Knowledge of co-insurance processes and procedures.

• Experience in insurance referrals and verifications.

• Familiarity with medical insurance verification procedures.

• Ability to handle insurance authorizations effectively.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and act with discretion at all times.

• Previous experience in a similar role within a university or educational setting is preferred.

• Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

• Must demonstrate a high level of professionalism and customer service.

• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Familiarity with medical terminology is beneficial.
